Beautiful Reverse Tapered Scround 20ml Bottle

I found these beautifully difficult to handle bottles in a box that my dad brought home from Germany years ago. Show these to any packaging machinery manufacturer and you will get an interesting reaction.

Notice the top is wider than the bottom. That's called a Reverse Taper.

The top of the bottle is round, but the bottom is square. We call these Scrounds (round + square).

The tapered sides make them difficult to handle because the shoulders touch before the base, causing the bottoms to kick out and potentially fall over. The scround shape (neither a round, nor a square) presents a challenge because they may contact each other along a edge or a flat side, presenting many more contact possibilities than two simple round bottles. As tricky as they are, I think we could handle them on one of our Infinity tables. We’ve worked with similar plastic bottles, but never a reverse tapered scround that small. We’ll try it out and post a video soon.
